mass reply To everyone who commented on my journal regarding the Chris Benoit and family tragedy, this is a mass reply:
This truly is a tragedy. Benoit knew what he was doing throughout the entire unfortunate weekend, and this was not a result of steroid abuse. Steroids do not make you deliberately and methodically hogtie your wife and strangle her to death, they do not make you smother your 7 year old child in bed, they do not make you place Bibles next to their bodies or make you send text messages to the boys with your full address, noting that the side door is open and the dogs are in the pool enclosure. Steroids WOULD have possibly made you go into a rage, but if so, you would have just beat the holy shit out of them, offed yourself, and not let anyone know.
I would like to re-post something my brother wrote on MySpace - it is the most well-written, brutally honest thing regarding this tragedy I have seen:
RIP to all of professional wrestling, welcome back to the early 90's. If I'm not mistaken pro wrestling was on a slight rise until the other day. Now, not only will it decline, but I don't know how I can watch matches anymore... What do you do when one of your idols for the past 8 years not only dies, but murders his wife, his 7-year old child, and commits suicide? I want to give my regards to anyone involved in the wrestling world, anyone who cares about profesional wrestling, anyone who puts up with it, and the extended families of Chris and Nancy Benoit. I wanted to write this last night. I want this not to be real. Chris Benoit was one of the greatest wrestlers, not only of today, but possibly of all time, and will never end up in any wrestling hall of fame, not because of a lack of wrestling skills (although he wasn't the best interview, he was the greatest technical wrestler of this time), lack of accomplishments (he is a former WWE Champion, and was set to wrestle for the ECW World Title, when he told WWE officials he had to go home due to a family emergency). You wanna know what I'm going to admit? I have lost no respect for Chris Benoit's wrestling career, possibly if I watch his matches I might feel a little sick. However, as a person, I don't know what the fuck happened... In 2003, when WWE opened up WWE Niagara Falls, I had a chance to get an autograph from Trish Stratus, Val Venis, and Chris Benoit, who were all at the grand opening of the park/amusement/shop/ride. Now Benoit wasn't in the best mood at that time (due to his neck being injured at the time). He tried his best to be warm when my sister, Danielle (now known as Independent Pro Wrestling/Manager Ferrari) gave him a compliment. I honestly don't know what to think anymore... or how to think... I am a mark at heart, and just can't accept something like this as it is , however, can anyone who saw the vince mcmahon death storyline honestly say that they did not see something, anything like this happening to destroy that storyline. I'm incoherent and rambling. I don't understand how or why Chris did this not only to his Wife, but to his 7-year old son. How can anyone commit suicide either? Will this be the death of wrestling like I stated at the beginning? I don't know... But, I have a feeling it will change alot, very fast. My regards go out to all of the people of whom Woman (Nancy Benoit/Sullivan) and Chris Benoit have touched. And would like to set out one possible question what the fuck makes someone who appears to have so much do something, anything like this... Congrats Benoit, you may have just destroyed the business you lived and loved your whole entire life.

This is one of the most well-written, brutally honest, so fucking true posts about this whole messed up tragedy. So well-written in fact, I almost didn't believe you wrote it, minus the WWE Niagara Falls story (and please take no offense to that).
Everything you said is true, I agree 100000%, and I am having a wicked difficult time dealing with this as well.
I am very frustrated that the media is turning this into a wrestling/steroid bash party, because what happened now sounds like Benoit was having bipolar disorder issues for the last year or so, uncontrolled by meds, and had a completely manic episode this weekend, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of all 3 of them.
RIP Sherri Martel, RIP Benoit, Nancy and Daniel, and RIP wrestling as we know it, and maybe (but I hope not) RIP wrestling forever.

Kyle, Mom, and I went to the zoo picnic last night, and I had totally forgot about raw until 9:30 (I was at aunt jeannes), when I turned it on, and saw Vince McMahon, and I was just like isn't this show supposed to be dedicated to you? And then I saw the bottom left hand corner of the screen, and the picture of chris and woman and their son. I got sad. Then I get home to find out that he did it. I do not know what to think. However, I think the way they are handling this is still bullshit, you can't repeal a tribute show, especially seeing as he had 20 years of wrestling, just like I disagree with the fact that the WWEshopzone.com discontinued selling anything that has to do with Benoit, in fact the Wrestlemania XX DVD says Triple H defended his world title against shawn michaels, and thats it, nothing else, thats apparently the whole match. I believe that he fucked not only himself and his family over, but also the entire wrestling world, but I also believe he shouldn't be erased from history because of that.
I totally agree with Justin's reply. Yes, the guy had mental issues and murdered his family.... BUT, he also had a very long, accomplished career, and you're going to just forget that??? OJ was never convicted, but come on, even when he was accused, no one disputed his football career!
This really is the biggest tragedy to ever occur in the wrestling world. And the worst part about it is the media's field day because it is wrestling and possibly steroid related. Yes, let's all jump on wrestling, because it's fake! THIS ISN'T FAKE PEOPLE. And now you are jumping on it because it's not fake. You are going to blame this on the 2 things that have NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the murders, wrestling and steroids. The guy was OBVIOUSLY FUCKED IN THE HEAD. Some sort of uncontrolled bipolar disorder or something. But you're going to call it ROID RAGE, put a huge black mark on WWE, Vince McMahon, all of their employees, and every single person on the indy scene doing something they love for little to no pay.
